Hands-on Ecological

Restoration Services

Kawakawa Environmental offers a variety of hands-on ecological restoration services across a range of ecosystems. This work is delivered by our professional ecological restoration team who hold the appropriate qualifications and training to achieve the best results.

Biodiversity

Monitoring

Biodiversity monitoring is a key component of ecological restoration in New Zealand. It provides an initial insight into the current state of biodiversity at a site before restoration efforts begin and serves as a baseline to make comparisons throughout the project. This insight allows us to measure the success of restoration work undertaken and reveals which actions will be most beneficial moving forward.

Our monitoring team employs a range of proven biodiversity monitoring and data collection techniques to give accurate and trusted results.

Ungulate

Management

Wild pigs, goats, and deer, known collectively as wild ungulates, can have significant impacts on forest restoration and inhibit the regeneration of highly preferred plant species.

Ecological

Planning

Kawakawa Environmental offers services for the initial and ongoing planning of restoration projects. We also produce a variety of maps to effectively convey information and display specific site boundaries and vegetation types.
